casa canyon hand dyed duvet

the process:
soaked IKEA duvet cover in soda ash
laid it out in our tall native grass beds, creating peaks and valleys that would let the dye react in interesting ways
sprinkled it with three colors of dharma powdered procion dye: dutch brown, coral pink, and imperial purple
misted it with the garden hose and let the colors blend overnight
rinsed it fully and machine-washed it in hot water
line-dried in the warm sunshine
